Another year is ending and we are excited to watch as the weather cools off (even if it is only drops to a brisk 65 degrees) and see the Christmas lights as they slowly show up on houses. We love to hear the Christmas music and drink hot chocolate, cuddle in blankets, and watch movies together. Christmas is our favorite time of year.
It feels like every year Christmas comes sooner than the year before. This year we are grateful that we are able to look back on our family blog and see what we have done to remind us that we have been busy and have had lots of fun times together. Here are a few highlights from our year:
EK and I took up running at the end of last year and have had many races this year as well as many t-shirts to add to our collection. We ran Pat’s Run and then the Ragnar Relay to start off the year.
The adventures continued into the summer with our Memorial Day celebration, and Ethan’s pre-school graduation. We went to Grandma Ginny’s 60th birthday celebration, the water park, and the lake. We ate at Krispy Kreme, Girl’s Night Out, and our Father’s Day fondue party. We visited many places locally for our vacation and ended the summer with Ethan’s first day of Kindergarten.
We survived many bruises, and laughed through EK’s first Jesterz improv comedy show. We watched as Kaiya started pre-school and then enjoyed some rock climbing and camping. We played soccer and then snuck into our bedrooms via the very cool, tiny, secret door.
We had a fun Halloween, went to a hockey game, and celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary right before we started off this holiday season with thanksgiving costumes and Christmas lights at the temple. So there it is, a brief overview of what the Carpenters did in 2008.
We are so grateful to our Father in Heaven for sending his son to live on this earth so we could learn from his example. We are grateful for our families and our health. We are so thankful for our jobs and our freedom and most of all, we are thankful for all of you for being our friends and loving us. We wish you all a very Merry Christmas.

k so i LOVE your Christmas pictures! They are just like my family when we were growing up-there is no "perfect picture" w/ little kids-its awesome, i love it! ps. my scrapbook attempt at making a wreath failed miserably. one big mess and 29$ later, it was awful-no pictures here :( trial and error i guess, better luck next time! ha!
