Ethan's school did a roller-skating rink night for all kids that attend his elementary school and their families and friends. It was quite a night. They did drawings for prizes and for those that wore their school spirit shirts they got a free prize. Porter's name was drawn and he got a free set of shampoo and body wash. :) EK and I learned that it is quite hard to teach 3 kids how to roller-skate when there are only 2 parents. It really does take 2 hands to hold up a child that is learning how to roller-skate. It is even harder when the adult has not gone roller-skating in over 15 years. EK is actually some sort of prodigy at roller-skating, but he did eventually go and switch out his roller-skates for roller-blades. I guess they are easier? He was skating backwards and sideways and every other direction. Then there was me, just trying to go straight without falling down onto my poor child in front of me that I was supposed to be teaching. Luckily for us, one of the girls we use to babysit was there and she kind of took Kaiya under her wing and had her roller-skating like a champ in no time. All in all it was a very fun night. We ate a pizza and played a few arcade games and called it a night. The kids had a great time and keep asking when we can go again.
