Lucky Ducky Derby Fun

On Saturday April, 24th, we took the kids to the Lucky Ducky Derby at the Scottsdale Waterfront. We bought 4 ducks ($5 each) and they were added to the other 20,000 ducks that they dumped into the canal. The money went to the Phoenix Children's Hospital so it was a very fun way to be charitable. The kids got to play fun water games and jump on bouncers. We listened to live music and ate cotton candy while we waited for the duck drop. It is quite a site to see 20,000 yellow rubber ducks floating all at one time. The kids thought it was great and we all had a nice relaxing Saturday in the beautiful April weather. Ethan was a bit disappointed at the end when none of our ducks won. He really wanted to win second place because he wanted to win the 2 day Arizona Grand Hotel trip. I had to explain to him that if we won first place, which was $10,000, we could stay there for a week and still have money left over. He didn't care; he still really had his heart set on second place. Although we went home empty handed, we all felt good knowing that we helped out the Children's Hospital.
